The bridge over the Kennet on Northbrook Street in Newbury, labelled Water Bridge on an H H Palmer postcard posted in 1919: the stone arch between old riverside buildings, with a wooden footbridge in the foreground.
A heritage print: the photograph from a postcard published by H H Palmer of Bartholomew Street, Newbury, and posted in January 1919, printed as it is — not redrawn — with the place and date in the name band. The card's printed caption has been trimmed away. The bridge still stands, but some things will have changed since.
Sizes and finishes
- Poster on 200gsm premium matte paper: A3 (42 × 29.7 cm). Frame not included.
- Canvas, stretched: 45 × 30 cm, the nearest canvas size to A3, so the picture is cropped slightly to fit.
- Framed: the A3 print in a 12 mm wooden frame in black, white or oak, with a clear acrylic front. The frame is included and adds 1.2 cm a side (44.4 × 32.1 cm framed).
A3 only: the old postcard is small, and a larger print would look soft.
